Kacey Musgraves, James Blake Nominated for Best New Artist Grammy

Kacey Musgraves’ Grammy opportunities will not be restricted to the country sector.

The singer-songwriter, who enjoyed an immensely buzzworthy 2013, will be one of the five acts contending for a Best New Artist Grammy award at the January 2014 ceremony.

Other nominated acts include James Blake, Ed Sheeran, Kendrick Lamar and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis.

Surprisingly omitted from the mix were Lorde (who performed during CBS’ live nominations concert) and Imagine Dragons, both of whom were considered frontrunners for consideration.
