Charlie Sheen, Wife Set For Counseling After Arrest, Knife Rumors Emerge

As the story awaits the release of additional details Monday and a court hearing for Charlie Sheen on February 8, the latest rumors on the arrest claim a knife was involved.

E! Online, which first reported rumors that a weapon of “some sort” was involved in the alleged Christmas weekend dispute between Charlie Sheen and his wife Brooke Mueller, now claims that said weapon was a knife.

“During the reported domestic dispute between Sheen and wife Brooke Mueller, the Two and a Half Men star allegedly threatened his better half with a knife in the living room of her Aspen rental home,” reported E!.

No police official has confirmed the knife story, nor have the police even formally identified the alleged victim and accuser as Mueller (though most believe pretty clearly that it was indeed Sheen’s wife).

Elsewhere, a source close to Mueller said that the couple will undergo counseling soon. “Both he and Brooke will undergo counseling and Charlie will get anger management counseling,” the source confirmed to People Magazine.

According to that same source, the two allegedly got involved in some sort of altercation on Christmas Eve that continued until Christmas morning. Later that morning, police responded to a 911 call and arrested Sheen on allegations of second-degree assault, menacing and criminal mischief.

“Both of them were drinking and neither was supposed to be. They both have histories of alcohol abuse and have made every effort to stop. But things got out of hand,” added the People source.

While the two are presently apart–Sheen headed back to Los Angeles while Mueller remains in her Aspen home–there is reportedly no talk of a permanent separation or divorce. Rumors that the two had been separated leading up to the incident also appear unfounded.
