Most American offices might be closed on Saturday, but that did not stop WWE from cutting one of its wrestlers loose.
In a WWE.com statement, the company announced that it released SmackDown! star Ricky Ortiz from his contract.
“WWE has come to terms on the release of SmackDown Superstar Ricky Ortiz as of today, Aug. 8, 2009. We wish Ricky the best in all future endeavors,” said the WWE statement.
