UFC News: Best of PRIDE, Another Big Name Returning?

UFC President Dana White talked about a number of noteworthy subjects at a Q&A session for this weekend’s UFC 101 event.

— The company will develop a “Best of PRIDE” series to air on Spike TV. According to White, the series will premiere in January and will be designed to shed light on the past PRIDE accomplishments of current UFC stars.

“It’ll kind of be like “UFC Unleashed,”” said White. “All the great PRIDE fights that happened with all the stars who are UFC guys now will be on it.”

— Though there is absolutely no deal or formal commitment in place, White acknowledged that he is open to mending the fence with Frank Shamrock. White and Shamrock have historically had a relationship far tenser than the White-Ortiz ever was, but White noted, “I made up with Tito. Maybe I could make up with Frank.”

Many believe UFC would push for a Tito Ortiz-Frank Shamrock rematch if Shamrock ever ended up returning to the promotion.
