The 2017 Primetime Emmy Nominations were revealed Thursday morning.
While the list of nominees includes plenty of “usual suspects,” it also includes some first-time nominees.
Most of the major acting races, in fact, feature a first-timer.
“This Is Us” star Milo Ventimiglia scores his first career Emmy nomination for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series. Claire Foy of “The Crown” is a first-timer in the Lead Actress in a Drama category.
The Lead Actor in a Limited Series or Movie race includes two first-time nominees. Veteran Robert DeNiro is a first-time nominee for “The Wizard Of Lies,” while Riz Ahmed is a first-year nominee for “The Night Of”*. Carrie Coon (“Fargo”) and Reese Witherspoon (“Big Little Lies)” are first-time nominees in the Lead Actress in a Limited Series or Movie category.
“Atlanta” star Donald Glover is a first-year nominee in the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Race***.

****Ann Dowd actually earned two nominations this year. She is also up for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama for “The Leftovers.”
