The figure places “Transformers” third on the all-time midnight opening gross list, behind “The Dark Knight” ($18.5 million) and “Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith” ($17 million). For a late-Tuesday/early-Wednesday midnight opening, it was the best of all time.
“Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” expanded to 4226 screens Wednesday.
