“Glee,” “Eclipse” Soundtracks to Top Christina Aguilera’s “Bionic” Album Sales

One of the tighter album sales races over the past month looks like it will come down to the latest “Glee” and “Twilight” soundtracks.

Presently, the soundtrack to “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” is in the lead, with HitsDailyDouble’s one-day sales extensions forecasting approximately 150-170,000 sales by week’s end. But, while “Glee: Journey to Regionals” is currently pacing for second with 140-160,000 sales, momentum from Tuesday’s hit season finale could help propel the EP into first place.

Tracking behind is Christina Aguilera’s “Bionic,” which should land in the 120-125,000 range. Hype for the album and lead single “Not Myself Tonight” never truly got going, and the result will likely be Aguilera’s worst opening week sales performance of the diva’s four studio releases.

Other debuts include Plies’ “Goon Affiliated” (55-65,000), Dierks Bentley’s “Up the Ridge” (40-45,000), Jewel’s “Sweet & Wild” (25-30,000), Clay Walker’s “She Won’t Be Lonely Long” (17-20,000) and Travie McCoy’s “Lazarus” (15-18,000).
