Jim Ross Closes Restaurant, Talks Big Upcoming Career Move

WWE veteran Jim Ross confirmed Sunday that he has officially closed his JR’s Family BBQ Restaurant.

“Sunday night we closed J.R.’s Family BBQ Restaurant in Norman,” wrote Ross. “We had a fun, almost three year run in a volatile business that saw us make many new friends, serve up some awesome food, launch our on line business, which is growing exponentially, and see our products on the shelves of grocery stores.”

Ross noted that his online business will continue and that he hopes to expand product offerings in grocery stores. As far as the restaurant is concerned, however, “our business plan could not handle the shift in the economy or the rising overhead that we encountered.”

Explaining that he would not make excuses, Ross added that the restaurant closing is possibly a “blessing in disguise” due to the fact that his “professional schedule is likely to change significantly” in the coming weeks. Ross offered no further clarification on his upcoming plans, but it certainly seems that “business is about to pick up” for the former announcer.
