Calling it a “standout among all kids programming,” Disney Channel’s Adam Bonnett announced that the network has renewed “Stuck In The Middle” for a second season.
“[Executive produer] Linda [Videtti Figueiredo] and her team have delivered a standout among all kids programming,” touted Bonnett. “Our viewers have connected to the relatable stories, the comedic conflict of being a middle child in a big lovable family and to a lead character with a passion for all things STEM.”
In its press release confirming the renewal, Disney Channel notes that the show is a Top 5 performer with the kids 6-11 and tweens 9-14 demographics.
It is not just a kid-skewing show, however. “Adults account for nearly one-quarter of its viewing audience — among all live-action series on kid-targeted channels, it ranks in the Top 5 among Adults 18-49 and Women 18-49.,” adds Disney.
Episodes from the ongoing first season will continue airing on Fridays. Production on the second season will commence this fall.
