FOX Renews “New Girl” For Season 6, Says Coach, Reagan Will Be Back As Guests This Year

Prior to last night’s episode, FOX confirmed that its long-running comedy “New Girl” will run even longer.

The network officially ordered a sixth season of its comedy.

“Every network comedy should aspire to what Liz Meriwether is achieving in NEW GIRL, with its bravura dialogue, inventive and witty performances by the talented cast and emotionally engaging storytelling,” said FOX’s David Madden. “The series is as creatively strong today as it ever was, we want to congratulate NEW GIRL on reaching its milestone 100th episode and we can’t wait for the next subversive and hilarious chapter of these characters’ lives.”

In conjunction with the announcement, FOX touted some guest stars that are due to return/appear as the show marches toward its fifth season finale.

“As the series heads toward its Season Five finale and the wedding of Schmidt and Cece (Hannah Simone), additional guest stars appearing on NEW GIRL include Megan Fox, who returns as Reagan; and Damon Wayans, Jr., reprising his role as Coach; as well as Nasim Pedrad (SCREAM QUEENS), Sonequa Martin-Green (“The Walking Dead”), Kal Penn (“House”), Rob Riggle (FOX NFL SUNDAY), Meghan Rath (COOPER BARRETT’S GUIDE TO SURVIVING LIFE), Nora Dunn (“Saturday Night Live,”), Kim Wayans (“In Living Color”) and Peter Gallagher (“Togetherness”),” noted FOX.
