After spending at least a full day within striking distance, Lukas Graham’s “7 Years” finally leapfrogged Rihanna’s “Work (featuring Drake)” on the US iTunes sales chart.
It, unfortunately, is not #1 on the listing. It was also leapfrogged.
The new leader? The “Idol version” of Kelly Clarkson’s “Piece By Piece.”
Performed on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” showcased at the beginning of this week’s “American Idol” and afforded rapidly growing attention at radio, the newly recorded version of Kelly Clarkson’s song is, as of 12PM ET on Friday, the hottest-selling track on the US iTunes storefront.
The album version, which rocketed to #1 after last week’s powerful live “American Idol” performance, is back up to #7. It had fallen to at least #10 (and perhaps slightly below) Thursday.
Additional versions of “Piece By Piece” are charting at #86 and #225.
