Kelly Clarkson’s “Piece By Piece,” which peaked in the Top 30 this January before quickly fading, is regaining steam at hot adult contemporary radio.
Thrust back into the spotlight thanks to Clarkson’s exceedingly memorable performance on last Thursday’s “American Idol,” “Piece By Piece” received 131 Hot AC spins during the first three days of the February 28-March 5 tracking week.
The tally positions “Piece By Piece” at #46 on Mediabase’s building Hot AC airplay chart. It is hard to project exactly where “Piece By Piece” will go as the week progresses, but there is no denying it is back on the radar.
Aiding the resurgence at radio was the release of a new “Idol version” of the song more reflective of Clarkson’s powerful live performance.
— “Piece By Piece” is concurrently #35 on the building chart for the adult contemporary format (it was #53 at this point last week). It has also been gaining steam at pop radio, where it received 17 Mediabase-monitored adds this week.
