Latest Word on Shawn Michaels’ WWE Retirement

The ‘wrestling retirement’ is historically one of the least sincere stipulations in the business, but according to sources, Shawn Michaels was still claiming he planned to walk away from the ring.

Throughout the day and following his WrestleMania 26 loss to Undertaker, Shawn Michaels was sticking to his word that he planned to retire and even saying goodbyes to his colleagues.

Additionally, WWE was reportedly telling members of the press that the stipulation was legitimate.

In either event, it is known that Shawn Michaels plans to take an extended hiatus. Whether or not this ends up being permanent remains to be seen, but the idea of leaving for good is at least under serious consideration by HBK at this point.
