Ratings: “Lip Sync Battle” Sinks To Season Low For Gigi Hadid vs. Tyler Posey

Lip Sync Battle [Spike]

Facing competition from the Republican presidential debate, Thursday’s “Lip Sync Battle” fell to season lows in adults 18-49 and total viewership.

Per Nielsen L+SD cable data, the episode drew a 0.48 adults 18-49 rating and 1.020 million total viewers. The numbers trail the 0.67 and 1.350 million posted by last week’s episode.

This week’s edition of the Spike series featured a battle between Gigi Hadid and Tyler Posey. Backstreet Boys Nick Carter and AJ McLean made cameo appearances.

While this was not the season’s first “Lip Sync Battle” to face competition from a Republican debate, this week’s debate drew a particularly strong rating. Thursday’s debate posted a 2.70 adults 18-49 rating from 8:42PM-10:53PM, besting the 2.27 drawn on 1/28 and 1.85 drawn on 1/14.

The extent to which a presidential debate audience overlaps with the “Lip Sync Battle” audience is unclear, but competition of that magnitude could not have helped matters.
