Grammys: The Weeknd Wins Best Urban Contemporary Album; D’Angelo & Vanguard Win R&B Album

Multi-time nominees The Weeknd and D’Angelo and The Vanguard have officially won album awards at the 58th Annual Grammy Awards ceremony.

The Weeknd’s “Beauty Behind The Madness” was named Best Urban Contemporary Album, while D’Angelo And The Vanguard’s “Black Messiah” is the Grammy winner for Best R&B Album.

The Weeknd’s album beat out The Internet’s “Ego Death,” Kehlani’s “You Should Be Here,” Lianne La Havas’ “Blood,” and Miguel’s “Wildheart.”

D’Angelo And The Vanguard’s release topped albums from Leon Bridges (“Coming Home”), Andra Day (“Cheers To The Fall”), Jazmine Sullivan (“Reality Show”), and Charlie Wilson (“Forever Charlie”).

Earlier in the night, The Weeknd won Best R&B Performance for “Earned It.” D’Angelo And The Vanguard’s “Really Love” was named Best R&B Song.
