THR.com reported this weekend that Christina Ricci has been cast in “Born to be a Star,” from co-writer and producer Adam Sandler.
Though Sandler’s longtime associates Jack Giarraputo, Allen Covert and Barry Bernardi are also on as producers, the film is not being developed through Sandler’s Happy Madison productions.
The film, which begins photography at the end of the month, follows a nerdy boy who, after learning that his parents were successful porn stars in the 1970s, decides to follow in their footsteps. Ricci plays his innocent girlfriend.
