Carly Rae Jepsen’s “E-MO-TION” is receiving strong reviews, but it will unfortunately settle for a modest opening week sales total.
Per Hits Daily Double’s estimates, the new album will move 12-15,000 pure copies during the August 21-27 tracking week. The inclusion of Track Equivalent Albums (10 single sales = 1 album equivalent unit) and Streaming Equivalent Albums (1500 single streams = 1 album equivalent unit), will likely result in a total consumption count of 15-20,000 units.
In addition to several holdover albums, “E-MO-TION” will also land beneath new releases like “Immortalized” (~70-75,000 sales), Kip Moore’s “Wild Ones” (~30-35,000 sales), Bon Jovi’s “Burning Bridges” (~22-25,000), Ghost’s “Meliora,” and Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats’ self-titled debut (~18-21,000) on the weekly sales chart. While no projection has yet been issued, Rob Thomas’ “The Great Unknown” is also expected to outsell “E-MO-TION.”
The follow-up to Carly Rae Jepsen’s “KISS,” which moved a then-modest 46,000 copies in its first week, “E-MO-TION” features singles “I Really Like You” and “Run Away With Me.”
