Shinedown’s “Cut the Cord,” which first emerged on June 29, is already the most-played song at active rock radio.
Up three places, “Cut the Cord” grabs the top spot on this week’s Mediabase active rock airplay chart.
The song’s #1 position comes courtesy the ~1,754 spins it received during the July 19-25 tracking week. The total, which bests last week’s mark by a healthy 215 plays, gives “Cut the Cord” a 67-spin lead over the runner-up.
Disturbed’s “The Vengeful One,” that runner-up, received ~1,687 weekly plays (+108). It was #3 on last week’s chart.
Halestorm’s “Amen” (#3, -1 | ~1,658, -7), Pop Evil’s “Footsteps” (#4, +1 | ~1,557, +100) and Royal Blood’s “Little Monster” (#5, -4 | ~1,491, -228) complete the weekly Top 5.
While their positions were different, all five songs also appeared in last week’s Top 5. The Top 10 is also without a new addition.
The same cannot be said for the chart’s Top 15, which welcomes two additions this week.
Red Sun Rising’s “The Otherside” and The Struts’ “Could Have Been Me” enter at #14 (+4) and #15 (+2), respectively. The former received ~724 tracking week spins (+107), while the latter garnered ~698 plays (+80).
Other movers:
— Breaking Benjamin’s “Angels Fall” (#16, +9), Of Mice & Men’s “Never Giving Up” (#19, +2) and Kill It Kid’s “Blood Stop and Run” (#20, +3) reach the Top 20 this week.
— I Prevail’s “Blank Space” cover (#23, +4) and P.O.D.’s “This Goes Out to You” (#24, +4) reach the Top 25.
