Ratings: “Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll” Premieres Softly; “Married” Roughly Matches S1 Finale

The series premiere of FX’s “Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll” failed to ignite significant fanfare.

Airing from 10-10:34 PM, Thursday’s episode posted a modest 0.35 adults 18-49 rating with 867,000 viewers. The premiere performance narrowly trailed that of previous timeslot occupant “The Comedians,” which started with a 0.37 rating and 878,000 viewers.

Because cable networks are no longer making decisions exclusively based on live+same-day ratings, the “Sex&Drugs” performance is not necessarily cause for immediate alarm. It is definitely not, however, cause for celebration.

Leading out of “Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll,” sophomore comedy “Married” posted a 0.26 adults 18-49 rating with 658,000 viewers. The performance was on par with that of the season one finale, which drew a 0.29 and 0.65 million viewers.
