Tori Kelly, Kacey Musgraves, Leon Bridges Debut in Top 5 on Album Sales Chart (Updated)

Update: Thanks to an opening week sales total of 65,000, Tori Kelly’s new “Unbreakable Smile” debuts at #2 on the Billboard Top Album Sales Chart.

With Track Equivalent Albums (10 single sales = 1 album sale) and Streaming Equivalent Albums (1500 single streams = 1 album sale) included, the album’s first week consumption total registers at 75,000 units. That earns “Unbreakable Smile” the #2 spot on Billboard’s revamped, consumption-oriented Billboard 200 chart.

Also new to the market, Kacey Musgraves’ “Pageant Material” lands at #3 on both charts. It moved 55,000 pure copies and 60,000 total units.

Leon Bridges’ new “Coming Home” lands at #5 on Top Album Sales and #6 on the Billboard 200. Its final pure sales total was not available at press time; its complete first week unit total was 42,000.

Breaking Benjamin’s “Dark Before Dawn” was the week’s best-selling album, but it was not the only new release to land within the Top 5.

Tori Kelly’s “Unbreakable Smile,” Kacey Musgraves’ “Pageant Material” and Leon Bridges’ “Coming Home” will also debut within that region of the Billboard Top Album Sales chart. The former two will appear within the top five of the Billboard 200.

Bolstered by late-week BET Awards exposure, Kelly’s album landed just above the high end of industry forecasts. Hits Daily Double reports that her “Unbreakable Smile” moved approximately 65,002 pure copies during the June 22-28 tracking week.

While Billboard’s more authoritative data will differ slightly, it will still recognize “Unbreakable Smile” as the week’s second-best-selling album.

With Track Equivalent Albums (10 single sales = 1 album sale) and Streaming Equivalent Albums (1500 single streams = 1 album sale) included, “Unbreakable Smile” boasts a consumption unit total in the neighborhood of 66,937. That will earn it the #2 spot on the Billboard 200.

Musgraves’ album moved what Hits reports as 53,549 pure copies and 57,575 total units during the tracking week. It will appear at #3 on Top Album Sales and the Billboard 200.

Bridges’ “Coming Home,” meanwhile, is slated to land at #5 (behind “Dark Before Dawn,” “Unbreakable Smile,” “Pageant Material” and James Taylor’s “Before This World”) on the Top Album Sales chart thanks to its ~36,348 sales. A consumption total of ~39,303 should give it the #6 spot on the Billboard 200 (behind the aforementioned four albums and Taylor Swift’s “1989”).
