Wiz Khalifa & Charlie Puth’s “See You Again” Becomes Pop’s Most Played Song

The Hot 100’s reigning #1 song is on the verge of becoming #1 at pop radio.

Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth’s emotional blockbuster “See You Again” is now the most played song at pop radio. If it can maintain its lead through Sunday — and it surely will — it will grab the #1 spot on Mediabase’s official pop airplay chart.

The song’s rolling lead is attributable to the 17,234 spins it received between May 9 and 15. According to Mediabase, The Weeknd’s “Earned It,” which previously held the #1 spot, received only 16,702 spins within that window. It slips to #2 on the rolling chart.

With a spin count that bests last week’s by a whopping 3,583 plays, “See You Again” will also rank as the pop format’s greatest airplay gainer.

In addition to leading the rolling pop chart, “See You Again” holds #2 on the rolling rhythmic listing, #19 on the rolling hot adult contemporary chart, #28 on the rolling urban listing and #34 on the rolling adult contemporary breakdown.
