Britney Spears & Iggy Azalea’s “Pretty Girls” Audio Leaks; Song Trends on Twitter

Those not named Beyonce or Drake simply cannot keep their songs from hitting the web early.

The latest leak involves Britney Spears’ eagerly anticipated “Pretty Girls (featuring Iggy Azalea).” Slated for a May 4 release date, the track emerged across numerous web and social sources Saturday, May 2.

Neither Spears nor Azalea has addressed the emergence of the audio.

The same cannot be said about the general Twitter population. When this article went to print at 5PM ET, “Pretty Girls” was the #4 Worldwide Trend.

Early feedback is mixed and seemingly contingent on one’s existing appreciation for Spears and/or Azalea. One commonality to much of the premature commentary, however, is talk of a similarity to Azalea’s breakthrough hit “Fancy.”
