Hamilton’s “New York Raining,” which features Rita Ora, scored adds from 19 monitored rhythmic radio stations and 22 monitored urban radio stations in conjunction with this week’s official impact.
According to Mediabase, those counts position the song as rhythmic’s third-most added track and urban’s fourth-most added.
Behind only those of Rihanna’s “Bitch Better Have My Money” (48 adds) and Kendrick Lamar’s “King Kunta” (28 adds), the song’s rhythmic add count greatly tops that achieved by fellow “Empire” soundtrack cut “You’re So Beautiful.” That song, which is credited to the Empire Cast featuring Jussie Smollett and Yazz, earned adds from 6 monitored stations this week.
The song’s urban add count, which ties that of Jordin Sparks’ “Double Tap (featuring 2 Chainz),” trails only those of “Bitch Better Have My Money” (36), “King Kunta” (30) and K. Michelle’s “Hard to Do” (26).
