Two weeks ago, Taylor Swift’s “Blank Space” ceded its throne at pop radio.
This week, it will do so at hot adult contemporary.
According to Thursday’s edition of Mediabase’s rolling Hot AC chart, Hozier’s “Take Me to Church” is now the most-played song at Hot AC radio. The song commanded 6,404 spins during the January 22-28 tracking period; “Blank Space” earned 6,202 within that window.
Insofar as “Take Me to Church” is rising and “Blank Space” is falling, the former should be able to retain its leadership position through Sunday evening. At that point, Mediabase will issue its official airplay chart and confirm “Take Me to Church” as its #1 Hot AC track.
