HBO Renews “Togetherness” for Season 2 Following Ratings Uptick

After essentially mirroring its premiere viewership in week two, HBO’s new comedy “Togetherness” attracted additional viewers in week three. An impressive feat in any scenario, the achievement was made more significant by virtue of the fact that its “Girls” lead-in took a fall.

And if that was not enough, the increased “Togetherness” viewership resulted in a significantly improved performance for lead-out “Looking.”

By combining this weekend’s performance with the show’s strong critical reception, HBO had all the motivation it needed to confirm a second season of the series. “Togetherness” will commence production in Los Angeles in advance of a 2016 second season premiere.

““We began our love affair with HBO in our parents’ living room in 1983, and to have these brilliant creative people put a ring on our fingers with a second season of TOGETHERNESS is a real-life dream come true,” said co-creators Jay and Mark Duplass in a statement.
