Brantley Gilbert’s “One Hell of an Amen” Hits Country Radio on November 17 (Updated)

Update: Presumably to avoid direct competition with the new Luke Bryan and Jason Aldean singles, which both had monster add weeks, Brantley Gilbert’s “One Hell of an Amen” is now scheduled to formally impact country radio on November 17.

“Small Town Throwdown” has begun fading away from the limelight, which means it is time for a new Brantley Gilbert single.

That single, which was delivered to country radio this week and formally impacts on November 10, is “One Hell of an Amen.”

An emotional track, “One Hell of an Amen” offers contrast from Gilbert’s party-driven “Throwdown” and “Bottoms Up” while still maintaining his signature sound. Given its quality and Gilbert’s reputation at the format, it should have no trouble gaining a decent foothold when it arrives at country radio on November 10.

Upon first uploading the song last year, Gilbert wrote:

this song references the loss of a US military soldier who was as close to kin to one of my closest friends from my home town… who witnessed his loss first hand while serving in active duty in Iraq… My friend shared the story with me to an extent where I felt like I was right there with him… And inspired me to write more than one song, including this one, about him… The other reference in this song is about the loss of a very dear, long time, and hometown friend of mine… Who we lost to a battle with cancer… In his battle with his disease, he showed more courage and faith than words can say, and it was that courage and faith that inspired me to write the second verse of this song about him… this song is very dear to my heart
