Blake Shelton’s “Neon Light” Goes Top 10 at Country

When Blake Shelton’s “Bringing Back the Sunshine” hits shelves this week, it will do so with the strength of a top ten country single behind it.

Lead single “Neon Light” officially reaches the #10 position on the latest Mediabase country airplay chart.

The recipient of 5,055 spins during the September 21-27 tracking period, Shelton’s “Light” overtakes Sam Hunt’s “Leave the Night On” to claim the week’s only available Top 10 spot. Hunt’s song holds at #11 with 4,941 spins.

Owing its top ten placement to a weekly lift of 525 spins, “Neon Light” was the format’s third-greatest gainer this week. Only Brad Paisley’s #23 “Perfect Storm” (+640) and Tim McGraw’s #26 “Shotgun Rider” (+628) made bigger gains this week.

— Cole Swindell’s “Hope You Get Lonely Tonight” claims the #1 position.

— Jason Aldean’s “Burnin’ it Down” vaults two places to a new high of #4.

— Keith Urban’s “Somewhere in My Car” advances one place to #15.

— Maddie & Tae’s “Girl in a Country Song” climbs three places to #16.

— Scotty McCreery’s ‘Feelin’ It” reaches the Top 20 at #19.

— Chase Bryant’s “On the Verge” selection “Take It on Back” also reaches the Top 20 this week. It climbs three places to #20.

— The aforementioned “Perfect Storm” enters the Top 25 at #23 this week.

— The aforementioned “Shotgun Rider” advances nine places to #26. Also new to the Top 30 this week is Darius Rucker’s “Homegrown Honey,” which reaches #30.

— Lee Brice’s “Drinking Class” enters the Top 40 at #37. John King’s “Tonight Tonight” returns to the Top 40 at #39, while Chris Young’s “Lonely Eyes” hits a new high at #40.

— Eric Church’s “Talladega,” which was the week’s most-added song at country, surges thirteen places to #41.

— Kenny Chesney’s “Til It’s Gone” debuts at #49.
