While Lecrae’s “Anomaly” did not dominate the weekly album sales race, it claimed first place by a wider than anticipated margin.

According to Hits Daily Double’s weekly sales listing, which typically differs only slightly from that officially reported by Billboard, “Anomaly” topped expectations–and the chart–with opening week sales of approximately 88,299.

Maroon 5’s “V,” last week’s leader, followed in the #2 position with sales of approximately 78,650.

Jhene Aiko’s new release “Souled Out,” which initially appeared capable of a #1 debut, settled for #3. Its estimated opening week total of 71,230 fell within the projected 70-75,000, but its failure to top that expectation kept it away from the weekly throne.

Ryan Adams’ “Ryan Adams” and Lee Brice’s “I Don’t Dance” closed out Hits Daily Double’s top five with inaugural sales frames of about 40,478 and 39,280, respectively.

Billboard will begin revealing its more authoritative sales data Wednesday morning.
