The final days of July proved very fruitful for Lorde.
In addition to securing a deal to curate–and perform on–the soundtrack to “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1,” the teen singer-songwriter also inked new multi-platinum certifications for her two biggest singles.
“Royals,” which went to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and introduced the artist as pop’s next big superstar, landed a 7x platinum mark from the RIAA on July 30.
Follow-up “Team,” which peaked at #6 on the Hot 100, earned an impressive 3x platinum mark from the organization.
Other newly certified multi-platinums for July include American Authors’ “Best Day of My Life” (2x), Luke Bryan’s “Country Girl (Shake it For Me)” (3x), Miley Cyrus’ “Party in the USA” (7x), DJ Snake & Lil Jon’s “Turn Down for What” (3x), Florida Georgia Line’s “Cruise” (8x), Selena Gomez and the Scene’s “Naturally” (4x) and Ariana Grande’s “The Way (featuring Mac Miller)” (3x).
