Hot 100: Echosmith’s “Cool Kids,” Luke Bryan’s “Roller Coaster” Hit Highs

It is onwards and upwards for Echosmith’s “Cool Kids” and Luke Bryan’s “Roller Coaster.”

The two tracks were among the big gainers on this week’s Billboard Hot 100 chart, which remains ruled by MAGIC!’s “Rude” and absent much movement in the Top 10.

After reaching #84 on the chart last week, Echosmith’s breakthrough effort jumps to #66 on this week’s chart. A steady gainer on iTunes and both Hot AC and pop radio, “Cool Kids” should continue to advance on Billboard’s all-encompassing single track chart.

Luke Bryan’s new single “Roller Coaster” also makes progress this week. Up sixteen places to #72, it is enjoying an explosive run on country radio and should join the Echosmith song in climbing the Hot 100 in the coming weeks.

Other notables in the lower portion of the Hot 100:

— Drake’s “O To 100/The Catch Up” debuts at #63. It was second only to Jason Aldean’s new “Burnin’ it Down” (#12) among debuts this week.

— Troye Sivan’s “Happy Little Pill,” which enjoyed a brief explosion on iTunes, starts at #92.

— Milky Chance’s alternative smash “Stolen Dance,” which many anticipate will make a pop run in the coming months, debuts at #95 on the Hot 100.
