A lot can change by the time the end of the sales week, but as of press time, Austin Mahone’s new “The Secret” EP claims the number one position on iTunes.
The eight song cut rocketed to the number one on the iTunes Album Sales chart immediately upon release Tuesday. While that position offers no inherent commentary on the album’s likely first-week sales total, it is certainly a positive development for the pop star.
“WOW I’m in awe of this moment and the love you all give me. So blessed. Dreams do come true,” Tweeted Mahone regarding his ascent to number one.
With “The Secret” in possession of the top spot on iTunes, Mariah Carey’s new “Me. I Am Mariah… The Elusive Chanteuse” has thus far been relegated to the number two position. Coldplay’s holdover “Ghost Stories” follows at number three, while the pre-order for Lana Del Rey’s “Ultraviolence” and Cher Lloyd’s new “Sorry I’m Late” settle for fourth and fifth.
Brantley Gilbert’s holdover “Just as I Am” sits in sixth place, while Tedashii’s “Below Paradise” (7), Crowder’s “Neon Steeple” (8), Royksopp & Robin’s “Do it Again” (9) and The Black Keys’ holdover “Turn Blue” (10) complete the top ten.
