His new album “G I R L” might be on track to flop, but at least Pharrell can be “Happy” about the success of its lead single.
“Happy,” which originated on the “Despicable Me 2” soundtrack, will spend a second week atop the Billboard Hot 100.
In addition to leading the overall Hot 100, “Happy” also reigns supreme over Digital Songs, Radio Songs and On-Demand Songs.
With the Oscar-nominated “Happy” only getting stronger, Katy Perry’s former number one “Dark Horse (featuring Juicy J)” is forced to spend a second week at number two. Jason DeRulo’s “Talk Dirty (featuring 2 Chainz)” holds at three.
Also staying put is John Legend’s “All of Me,” which repeats at number four. Number five, however, welcomes a newcomer in Bastille’s newly peaking “Pompeii.”
Lorde’s “Team” follows at a new peak of number six, while Beyonce’s “Drunk in Love (featuring Jay-Z)” settles for seven. OneRepublic’s “Counting Stars” (#8), A Great Big World & Christina Aguilera’s “Say Something” (#9) and Pitbull’s “Timber (featuring Ke$ha)” (#10) round out the top 10% of the Hot 100.
