— A big aspect of the fifth “How I Met Your Mother” season will be the potential Barney and Robin relationship. According to Carter Bays, the idea of a Barney-Robin relationship is interesting not simply because the two components are not “relationship people” but also because it changes the dynamic of the group. After giving Barney the okay to pursue Robin, how will ex-boyfriend Ted react to their courtship? Also, “we’ll see how Marshall and Lily deal with the fact that there’s another couple in the group,” teases Bays.
Regarding Sarah Chalke’s character, Stella should will likely return in conjunction with the May 2010 release of fiance/husband Tony’s “The Wedding Bride,” a future story arc that was teased on this season’s penultimate episode.

it’s nice to have Sarah Chalke reprise her role as Stella, but now that she’s pregnant in real life(i dunno what they are drinking in that show, everyone’s pregnant and having kids), she might not be able to do it. 🙁
