Though it has broken countless pop culture stories, TMZ occasionally deals with a competing motto: the wackier and more trivial, the better.
That motto governs a recent piece on UFC contender and failed UFC 159 title challenger Chael Sonnen, who it reports wants to purchase WWE, Inc.
“It is 100% Chael’s intent to buy the WWE,” says a rep for Sonnen. The “TUF” coach and well-known trash talker is supposedly meeting with investors about making a play for the company.
WWE responded to the report, telling TMZ, “We are a publicly traded company, so [Chael is] more than welcome to purchase shares of WWE stock and become one of our valued shareholders.”
