WWE RAW Rating Dips Again

The “guest host” gimmick on RAW is not drawing ratings for WWE. Monday’s edition of RAW suffered another dip in the viewership department.

The Nielsen Media Research cable rating for Monday’s show was a 3.5, which marks yet another consecutive decline since the big number for the commercial-free show a few weeks ago.

It cements the notion that the guest host angle is not drawing for WWE–a 3.5 would generally be viewed as a baseline number for a summer edition of WWE RAW, so the gimmick has provided almost no spike. The MLB All-Star festivities provided some competition in the demographic, but if the guest host saga were creating must-see TV, the rating still would not have dipped to a 3.5.

There are conflicting reports going around on the hourly breakdown. PWInsider says the show did a 3.3 in hour one and a 3.8 in hour two; PWTorch reverses the two. The assumption is that the PWTorch report is a mistake; a .5 drop in audience from hour one to two would be cause for major concern.
