That notion, itself, is worthy of celebration. BTS is the hottest music group on the planet, and “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert” is America’s most-watched talk show.
BTS and “Colbert” nonetheless went one step further. As the show takes place in the iconic Ed Sullivan Theater, they mirrored the performance after The Beatles’ iconic “Ed Sullivan Show” debut in 1964.

Wednesday’s edition of the program pays homage to an iconic moment from “The Ed Sullivan Show.”
More specifically, it models the episode’s musical performance – a debut visit from BTS – after The Beatles’ famous “Ed Sullivan” arrival in 1964. In addition to playing off the Ed Sullivan connection, the performance recognizes the passionate fanfare surrounding BTS.
Not simply there to perform, BTS also joins host Stephen Colbert for an interview. Wednesday’s “Colbert” additionally features a chat with the hosts of “Pod Save America.” It airs at 11:35PM ET/PT on CBS.
