Charlie Puth’s “Voicenotes” is in contention for a Top 3 position on this week’s Billboard Top Album Sales chart. It may challenge for a Top 5 position on the Billboard 200.
According to Hits Daily Double, “Voicenotes” should sell 35-39,000 pure US copies during the May 11-17 tracking period.
Only P!nk’s “Beautiful Trauma” (projected for 78-83,000) is a lock to sell better, while “The Greatest Showman” soundtrack (32-35,000) and Arctic Monkeys’ “Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino” (29-32,000) should perform similarly.
As such, “Voicenotes” is on track to debut in the #2-4 range on the pure sales chart.
With TEA (track sales/10) and SEA (track streams/1500) included, “Voicenotes” should generate 53-58,000 in total first-week consumption units.
Post Malone’s “Beerbongs & Bentleys” (139-144,000), P!nk’s “Beautiful Trauma” (81-86,000) and Playboi Carti’s “Die Lit” (64-69,000) are on track for comfortably better numbers, while J. Cole’s “KOD” (56-60,000), Cardi B’s “Invasion Of Privacy” (53-57,000) and “The Greatest Showman” (48-52,000) should perform similarly. “Voicenotes” is thus looking at a #4-7 debut on the Billboard 200 consumption chart.
“Voicenotes” is the follow-up to Puth’s debut album “Nine Track Mind.” Released in 2016, the album debuted with 47K pure sales and 65K total units.
