NBC’s “The Voice” and ABC’s “American Idol” both suffered week-over-week ratings declines this week.

“The Voice” took a smaller hit — and thus increased its margin of victory over ABC’s music competition series.

According to fast national data posted by Showbuzz, Monday’s “The Voice” averaged a 1.9 adults 18-49 rating and averaged 9.91 million overall viewers between 8-10PM. The numbers narrowly trail the 2.0 rating and 10.50 million viewer mark drawn last week.

“American Idol” drew a 1.4 adults 18-49 rating and 7.08 million viewers. Last week’s “Idol” was good for a 1.7 and 7.80 million.

While NBC beat ABC during the 8-10PM window, ABC took a narrow lead at 10PM. Its new series “The Crossing” drew a 1.0 rating and 5.45 million viewers.

The numbers pale in comparison to those typically drawn by previous timeslot occupant “The Good Doctor,” but they top the 0.9 rating and 4.27 million viewer mark earned by NBC’s “Good Girls.”

— The aforementioned programs aired opposite the NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship; the game itself started during the 9PM hour. “Idol,” interestingly, drew a better rating at 9PM (1.5) than it did at 8PM (1.3). It did, however, endure a slight loss in overall viewership.

“The Voice” held steady in adults 18-49 from hour one to hour two. Like “Idol,” it took a slight viewership hit at 9PM.
