Bruno Mars’ “24K Magic” Certified 5x Platinum In US; Childish Gambino’s “Redbone” 4x

“24K Magic” and “Redbone” just picked up new multi-platinum certifications.

The 2018 Grammy winner for Record of The Year just received a new multi-platinum award in the United States.

One of the fellow nominees also earned a new RIAA certification.

Bruno Mars’ “24K Magic,” the former, garnered a 5x platinum certification on February 9, 2018. The award confirms 5 million in US units, with each unit equal to 1 paid download or 150 streams.

Childish Gambino’s “Redbone,” which was a nominee in the category, reached 4x platinum the very same day.

Its award confirms 4 million in US units.

Other 2018 Record of the Year nominees included Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee’s “Despacito (featuring Justin Bieber)” (10x platinum), Jay Z’s “The Story Of OJ” (gold) and Kendrick Lamar’s “HUMBLE.” (not formally certified but clearly eligible for a multi-platinum honor).
