“American Idol” Confirms Theme, Guest Performers For Next Week’s Top 11 Repeat

Thanks to the judges’ decision to save Casey Abrams, next week’s “American Idol” will again feature the top eleven contestants competing.

This time, however, there are no second chances–two contestants are definitely getting eliminated next week.

The “Idol” action will begin with a performance show on Wednesday. According to FOX, the contestants will perform songs from the 1980s, with the show again opting for a fairly-open, accessible theme.

Thursday’s results show will feature performances from season three winner Fantasia (“Collard Greens & Cornbread”) and Jamie Foxx/will.i.am (“Hot Wings”).

  1. Dear AI Personnel:

I have a theory as to why something could happen like happened on the last show–Pia’a elemination.

If you would start limiting the number of votes like every other show like your does. something like what happened wouldn’t happen.

You have made it a popularity contest instead of a talent contest by allowing the voting as you do. Some people have nothing better to do than just sit and call numbers. Others don’t.

If you were to limit the voting to how many contestants there are the problem would be eleminated, and you wouldn’t be able to brag about the 10’s of millions of votes generated.

    Think about it!
