Blink-182 performed “I Really Wish I Hated You” during halftime of Monday’s Chicago Bears vs. Washington Redskins game, and the showcase clearly resonated with music buyers.

As of press time at 1:45AM ET Tuesday — just about four hours since the Genesis Halftime Show — the song is up to #19 on the US iTunes song sales chart. It was well outside the Top 100 prior to the performance.

While the weekly halftime show performances largely fly under the media radar, they clearly represent great promotional opportunities for artists. A performance during last year’s Kansas City Chiefs vs. Los Angeles Rams offered a huge momentum boost for The Chainsmokers & Kelsea Ballerini’s “This Feeling.”

This week’s “I Really Wish I Hated You” performance represents another big success story.
