“Fear Inoculum” will be the week’s best-selling debut.

Opening week sales and consumption projections have emerged for the new TOOL album, and they are predictably big.

According to Hits Daily Double, the band’s new “Fear Inoculum” is on track to sell 220-240K pure US copies this week. With units from track sales and streams included, it may debut with 240-260K in total first-week US consumption.

Because second-week projections for Taylor Swift’s “Lover” are not yet available, it is too early to predict whether “Fear Inoculum” will challenge for #1 on the next album chart. It is, however, almost certain for a Top 2 debut. It will also resoundingly rank as the week’s top new album.
