Katy Perry’s “Small Talk,” Twenty One Pilots’ “The Hype,” and Saweetie’s “My Type” are all gaining traction at pop radio. The songs officially move into the format’s Top 50 this week.

Played 654 times during the August 18-24 tracking period (+362), “Small Talk” ranks as the Mediabase pop panel’s #42 song. It was #55 last week.

“The Hype” concurrently enjoys an eight-place gain to #46. The latest “Trench” single received 585 tracking period spins (+292).

Credited with 471 spins (+128), “My Type” earns a #49 ranking. The rhythmic and urban crossover was last week’s #51 song at pop radio.
