Taylor Swift’s “You Need To Calm Down” Approaching Top 10 At Pop Radio

The new Taylor Swift single is rising at radio.

Taylor Swift’s current radio single “You Need To Calm Down” is en route for the Top 10 on the Mediabase pop radio airplay chart. It could get there as soon as this week.

“You Need To Calm Down” received 1,277 spins on Sunday, which marked the first day of the July 7-13 tracking period. Up 18% from the previous Sunday’s count, the tally slots “You Need To Calm Down” at #10 on the building/real-time chart.

Because the week is so young (and because Sunday airplay can be erratic), it is too early to guarantee a Top 10 move for “You Need To Calm Down.” The song’s prospects do, however, look promising. Jonas Brothers’ building #11 “Cool” and Katy Perry’s building #12 “Never Really Over” do not seem to have as much upward momentum, and there are no other imminent threats from below.

“You Need To Calm Down” is the follow-up to Swift’s Top-10 peaking “ME! (featuring Brendon Urie).”
