Ratings: “Empire” Ties Series Low For Spring Premiere

FOX’s “Empire” returned with one of its worst performances ever.

To say there was no “Jussie Smollett curiosity boost” for FOX’s “Empire” is to put it lightly. The drama actually returned with one of its worst performances on record.

According to final data posted by Showbuzz, Wednesday’s spring premiere drew a 1.2 adults 18-49 rating and averaged 4.40 million overall viewers.

The adults 18-49 number ties the series low set earlier this year by an episode airing on Halloween. That episode posted a slightly lower 4.23 million viewership sum.

This week’s episode clearly represents a non-holiday low mark for the show.

“Empire” led into “STAR,” which delivered a 1.1 and 3.57 million.
