Despite not arriving until the sixth day of the January 18-24 tracking period, Weezer’s self-titled cover album (“Teal Album”) posted an impressive sales figure.

According to Hits Daily Double and BuzzAngle, the album generated 15.3K in pure US sales. With units from track sales and streams included, the album generated nearly 18K in consumption.

Billboard’s more authoritative data may differ slightly from that reported by Hits. Assuming the difference is not significant, however, the album will debut prominently on this week’s key Billboard charts.

Based on the Hits figures, “Weezer” could be looking at a Top 5 bow on the Billboard Top Album Sales chart and a Top 40 launch on the Billboard 200.
