The Chainsmokers & Halsey’s “Closer” Earns 15x Platinum Certification In Australia

“Closer” crosses the 1.05 million unit mark.

Headline Planet just revealed its list of the Top 20 pop hits of 2018.

The song that took #1 on the 2016 countdown just received a mammoth new certification in the Land Down Under.

The Chainsmokers’ “Closer (featuring Halsey),” that song, now boasts a 15x platinum award in Australia.

Auspop first shared news of the certification.

Issued by ARIA, the award signifies at least 1.05 million in Australian units.

“Closer” enjoyed a multi-week stint atop the ARIA Australian Top 50 singles chart. While it fell off the chart a while back, it maintained a Top 100 position in Australian as recently as last week.
