After two weeks of knocking on the door, Khalid x Normani’s “Love Lies” should officially enter the Top 3 on this week’s Mediabase pop radio airplay chart.

“Love Lies” received 9,242 spins during the first four days of the August 19-25 tracking period. Up 9.7% from the count at this point last week, the tally slots “Love Lies” at #3 on Mediabase’s building chart.

While “Love Lies” was on #3 on the building chart at this point last week, Cardi B, Bad Bunny & J Balvin’s “I Like It” pulled ahead just as the chart went final.

That seems unlikely to happen this week. “Love Lies” maintains a 463-spin lead over “I Like It” and has a clear momentum advantage. While it is up 9.7% from last week, “I Like It” is only up 5.1%.

If the songs remain on those rough trajectories, “Love Lies” would close the week with a lead in excess of 600 spins.

“Love Lies” will follow Logic’s “1-800-273-8255 (featuring Alessia Cara & Khalid)” as Khalid’s second Top 3 hit at pop radio. It will be Normani’s first as a solo artist; she also achieved one Top 3 hit (“Work From Home”) as part of Fifth Harmony.
