Disney Channel confirms a new live-action “Descendants” short.

Under The Sea: A Descendants Story

The third and final “Descendants” film will not premiere until 2019.

Fans will not, however, have to wait until then to see new content from the franchise.

Disney Channel announced plans to air a 10-minute short entitled “Under The Sea: A Descendants Story” at 7:50PM ET on September 28.

“Dove Cameron and China Anne McClain reprise their roles as fan-favorite characters Mal and Uma, respectively, in this live-action short-form special filled with dazzling visual effects and high-energy music and dance,” says Disney Channel.

In addition to Cameron and McClain, the short will feature appearances by Anna Cathcart, Thomas Doherty and Dylan Playfair.

“In the story, Mal emerges from the shadows of a mystical forest onto a dark coastline where she crosses paths with Dizzy,” adds Disney Channel.

Immediately following the September 28 broadcast, the short film will launch on DisneyNow and Disney Channel on-demand.
