Darius Rucker Performs On “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon”

Update: Darius Rucker performed twice on Thursday’s “Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.”

He first accompanied Jimmy Fallon to perform “Only Want To Thank The Troops.” A play off the Hootie & The Blowfish classic “Only Wanna Be With You,” the song was dedicated to the troops in attendance.

Later, he performed his radio single “For The First Time.”

Friday morning, Darius Rucker will perform on NBC’s TODAY Show.

Thursday night, he takes the stage on NBC’s “Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.”

Rucker performs his hit “For The First Time” toward the end of the broadcast. The song will move into the Top 2 — and may even challenge for #1 — on this week’s country radio chart.

In addition to performing “For The First Time,” Rucker joins host Jimmy Fallon for a separate musical segment. Per notes from the taping, they play a song called “Only Want To Thank The Troops” (presumably a pro-troops version of “Only Wanna Be With You”).

Taped earlier Thursday, the episode also features appearances by Cate Blanchett and Guy Fieri. It airs at 11:35PM ET/PT on NBC.
